From Coach Schneider

Amazing day of competing at Ponderosa boys! So proud of all of you for digging deep and wanting to win and compete hard despite the wind and cold. You all are awesome, and I’m lucky to be your coach.

Highlight of the meet probably goes to Wyatt for closing a 30+ meter gap on the final leg of the 4x4 to win it. Pretty awesome.

ALSO, huge shoutout to the awesome teammates who came out and watched their boys race in the wind and cold: Paulie, Charles, and Ethan!

Thursday April 6th

A spectacle of true TEAM RUNNING! These 8 Regis Harriers made their presence felt in a beautiful 1600m team race. They captivated the entire stadium! Running most the race in a single file line like a team of dialed in runners, DF and BF had a clear pace plan to take their teammates out in a consistent PR pace. They came thru in 3:32 for 1200m giving their teammates an opportunity to run under 4:40. CS and WH took a big risk to stay with the top guys until 1100m and had nice PR's of 4:46 and 4:48 to make the All-Time 1600m list. Caleb and Liam hung until a lap to go and closed strong to both PR in 4:40 and 4:41. Both were mad to not break 4:40. They are not content and hungry for more!!!! DF and BF closed in a 61 as they were instructed to pace for 1200m and race the last 400m. Braeden, in his classic laid back style, gave David a high five with 200m to go running together all the way thru the ine. Max Ficco ran a strong last lap to run 5:02 in a PR and close out the 1-7 RJ sweep. Thomas had a very very hard fall at 300m, but ran brave  for the next three laps. Thomas represented Regis Harriers valiantly in his first of many varsity races.

Saturday, April 1st

TOUGH and COMPETITIVE. The best two words to describe the meet today at Niwot. David and Braeden began the meet placing 5th and 6th overall running 423 and 424. They COMPETED well, times come when you race with the guys around you. Zion made a brave move to win the second heat but ran out of jelly beans the last 50 meters, I loved his gutsy move and it will pay off big down the road. His teammates didn't respond to Zion's initial move but hung very tough and all four were in the top 10 of the race. 441 for ZT, 444 for CA and LS, 447 for JB. There is a lot more in the tank these next 6 weeks of the season, we are just getting warmed up!!! Lots more races and opportunities to compete!!! These six boys took this opportunity and gave it their best shot, that's all you can ever ask for. 5 of the 6 doubled back in a windy and competitive 800m. No complaining about the wind or tired legs, each of them repped RJ well and coaches were proud they gave the two lap intense 800m race a shot. 205-206-209-211-212 for them!!! Great day of racing!!!
